Microsoft HoloLens 2 continues to improve user experience with new software update. The latest changes to HoloLens 2 features automatic eye-calibration. Creating a quick and simple transition between users. Other updates include color calibration improvements and a new reading mode. These improvements create a more comfortable experience for users.

The first new feature mentioned creates a smooth and easy transition from one user to the next. Automatic Eye Position (AEP) allows any user to use the HoloLens 2 right away. The headset calibrates the users eye position automatically. The pervious method required a multistep manual process to calibrate. Now users can use the HoloLens right away. This is perfect for demonstrations, trainings, and one-off cases with several users. Companies will improve efficiency when they train employees without this tedious manual process. While AEP is prefect for example like training and one-off demonstrations. Microsoft recommends running the full calibration process for the most accurate tracking.

The second new feature is color calibration improvements. This improves HoloLens 2 image quality. This new feature addresses the pervious issue where darker colors would pick up a red tone. Users also saw issues when they dimmed the entire display. The entire display would pick up red colors. Microsoft has addressed this issue and “the result will be more color accuracy across the brightness spectrum”.

The third new feature will be a new reading mode for the HoloLens 2. The new reading mode will also improve the image quality. This will create an improved reading experience for users. Although these new features are not yet available. Users can preview these new features with Microsoft’s insider preview program.
