Microsoft announces HoloLens 2 Industrial Edition

Big News! Microsoft announced on Wednesday during their HoloLens Industry Summit. The newest member of the HoloLens family the HoloLens 2 Industrial Edition. Designed with the intent for use in critical environments. This latest edition will allow HoloLens users to operate in heavy regulated industrial locations.

Key industrial standards ratings:

HoloLens 2 Industrial Edition comes with the following industrial standards ratings:

• Clean room compatible – ISO 14644-1 Class 5
• Intrinsic safety – UL Class I, Division 2

Per Microsoft the “ISO 14644-1 Class 5 classification, HoloLens 2 Industrial Edition meets particle and emissions standards for clean rooms rated ISO class 5. The UL Class I, Division 2 certification means that HoloLens 2 Industrial Edition meets the intrinsic safety requirements to deploy in environments where ignitable concentrations of hazards exist under abnormal operating conditions.”
