CraneMorley Earns AVA Platinum Award

For Mercedes-Benz HoloLens New Model Training

January 10, 2020 – Long Beach, CA – CraneMorley kicks off the new year winning an AVA Platinum award for developing Mercedes-Benz HoloLens New Model Mixed Reality Training.  The 2020 AVA Digital Awards competition included more than 2,500 entries.  Approximately 15 percent of entries earned Platinum.

The new model training project was deployed as a mixed reality experience via the HoloLens headset as part of MBUSA’s new model training for its dealer technicians.  Mercedes technicians were able to see the newest suspension system in action, via 3-D holograms inside the actual vehicle, as a form of “X-ray vision.”

The project enabled Mercedes to evaluate mixed reality as part of a future instructor-led (ILT) new model training.

“We are grateful to Microsoft for granting pre-release access to their Dynamics 365 Guides authoring tool and providing support for a workshop developed by CraneMorley for the Mercedes learning and performance team for their future use of Guides and the HoloLens,” commended CM president Thomas Pratt.  “This has positioned our client team to be a step ahead as version two of the HoloLens goes into wide release.”

AVA Platinum Award: is administered and judged by the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals (AMCP), one of the oldest, largest, and most respected evaluators of creative work in the marketing and communication industry.
